Free HSNO Information Workshops
The Department of Labour, ACC, ERMA New Zealand and the NZ Chemical Industry Council will be holding a number of free Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act (HSNO) information workshops throughout New Zealand, October - November 2008.
Specifically designed for people running or employed by small to medium businesses that may use hazardous substances, these short, cost-effective, informative workshops will cover:
- What you need to know about hazardous substances in the workplace
- Meeting workplace health and safety obligations
- Managing chemicals in the workplace safely
- HSNO Compliance Tools available to help you
- Hands-on experience identifying workplace hazards
Workshops will be held 9am – 12pm. Government and industry experts will explain basic workplace health and safety compliance responsibilities (particularly those arising from the HSNO Act) and show you how to achieve them with minimum fuss and expense. Each workshop will also include a challenging practical exercise involving chemical hazards in a workplace.
